As the saying goes “You are what you eat”….which means most American’s would be classified as fast, easy and cheap! Even those of us who have a healthy focus get sucked in to this same mindset.
Over the summer, I attended a lunch event with some fabulously smart women who are dedicated to the health of others through enjoying life! One of these women was Andrea Beaman a natural foods chef and holistic healthy coach you may recognize from Top Chef season 1.
During that short lunch her energy and zest for healthy eating was so infectious that it truly made me rethink some of my own beliefs. Why couldn’t I sit down to enjoy a meal? How could I add in more great fats? Because of this I reached out to her to be one of the experts for this year’s Holiday Challenge and she graciously agreed. The following is an interview with her that I truly hope you will watch. I know you’re busy, I know you’re at work and need to put in headphones, BUT if you want to change your relationship to food this is a great place to start and get you excited.
Finding the right diet for you? What does she think of Paleo or Vega?
How fat satisfies you on a deeper level and impacts your appearance.
If your food is Fast, Easy and Cheap what’s that saying about your life?
How you can have your cake and enjoy the heck out of it.
If anyone can prove to you that changing your food and relationship to food works it’s Andrea. Her journey allowed her to overcome a thyroid condition for which doctors recommended radiation and to develop a way of eating that doesn’t require calorie counting or worry about food.
“Like many people, I used to think sickness and disease were a normal part of the human condition. Today, I know that’s simply not true. Chronic ailments may be common, but they’re certainly not normal!
After transforming my own illness, I realized the old adage, “you are what you eat,” is clearly one of the most profound statements in regards to human health.”
